One of the unofficial things I wanted to develop more were my art journaling books. I’ve journaled the past 4 weeks but since I’ve been having a hard time finding my blogging voice, I just haven’t gotten around to putting them online.
Here’s what I’ve done in the past weeks:
Most days I do my art journaling during my work lunch breaks so my supplies are limited. I’m starting to think that I really should invest in creating myself a mini traveling art kit. It would be so amazing!!! But on the other hand, there is something nice behind having to keep things simple in terms of art and focus on the words.
I’ve been trying to create pages each week but I’m not committed to journaling every week. I think that I have enough projects on my plate at the moment to not feel the need to take on another! I’m a glutton for punishment and have a tendency of taking on too much so I’m forcing myself to stand back and not pledge myself to anything beyond what I can handle.
So today I went shopping for supplies for Chinese New Year for my office at the college and felt inspired to create an art journal page based on the New Year. When I read about what the year ahead predicts, I have to admit to being really pleased by what the year of the rabbit foretells! Travel, friends, hobbies and good memories are all good in my book!
