scrapbooked: simplicity and a trip to BC

Our trip back to BC in 2008: Paul learns what a REAL forest is! From left to right: Cathedral Grove, Little Qualicum Falls, Cathedral Grove, all on Vancouver Island, BC*

I've mentioned before that I am working to figure out what my scrapbooking style is. Am I a colourful, cluttered scrapbooker, with lots of embellishments and additions, or a clean and simple page maker?

I think that I'm coming to the conclusion that I am a simpler style scrapbooker. While I love the layers and textures of so many pages out there, I just don't make them that well. I don't find them easy to do. I get frustrated with knowing when to stop or how far to push the decorations. And honestly, while I love looking at others busy pages, I want my pictures and stories to be the focus on my own pages. So I think I've come to the conclusion that simpler works better for me.

 * By the way, the big white glare is not in the original photo! It's my camera flash and since I'm too impatient to wait until daytime to take my photos, you're all just gonna have to live with it!
