Feed: Nourish: Nurture
Yeah... I'm about to share one of those because I can't resist it.
So the other night I was talking to a friend (who shall remain nameless unless she outs herself), and we had a conversation that went something like this:
Her: "I need my friends, they feed me."
Me, after ignoring the literal meaning and choosing to respond to the more disturbing implication: "Nurture, not feed. Otherwise it makes you sound like a vampire."
Her: "Ha ha, yeah, true! But you know what I mean, they nourish me."
Me: Nurture. Nourish is just another version of food and vampires."
Her: "Ha! Yeah, I'm hungry and didn't have lunch. Can you tell?"
Don't you just love when your friends correct your vocab? Or when language in a conversation becomes some weird Freudian slip?
