introducing spices into baby's diet

A lot of people will tell you that baby food should be bland and that kids don't do spices. I'm not of that school of thought.

Introducing spices and developing a diverse eating palate is super important to me (and Paul I think... he might just think it's important cause I'm so big on it). I want a kid who will eat Indian, Thai and Mexican (as in mole sauce, not just gringo Tex Mex).

This is just the third left waiting for free ice cube trays!
In addition to the spices we've already introduced (vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, oregano), I made these combos to introduce new flavours:
  • ginger, carrot and squash
  • squash and onion
  • sweet potato and nutmeg
  • squash and allspice
  • apple, cardamom and ginger
  • apple cinnamon
  • carrot, basil and garlic (surprisingly tasty)
  • pear and vanilla
  • sweet potato, squash, onion and garlic
  • apple, vanilla and cinnamon
Once we get through these, I'm going to try an Italian mix, but more importantly, stronger spices like curry and cumin! Fun!
